place to bring your baby into the world, Baylor Medical Center at
Carrollton is here for
you. The newly redecorated and renovated Obstetrics facilities at Baylor Carrollton

experience possible for our new families.
Maternity
Program -
All parents will tell you that no experience in life can compare to
the day your child is born. You are filled with an overwhelming feeling
of love and joy for a person you just met. You are also awed by the
sense of responsibility knowing that this little person will be
dependent on you for everything, and you want to give your baby the
best beginning of life that you can.
Baylor
Medical Center Carrollton has developed a teaching program to help
expectant parents get a jump on the learning curve. We have a program of free prenatal
class available to all who receive prenatal care at Baylor Medical
Center Carrollton. Call 1-800-4-Baylor.
Baylor
Nursing Staff -
We have a well-educated and
well-trained staff to help you during
your birthing processes. Together, our nurses
provide hundreds of years of nursing experience. Besides
experience and education, our staff possess the caring personalities
that make you
feel part of the family instead of just a patient. We have a
long term stable core of great nurses. I love our nurses here!
Birthing Suites
-
Moments after your baby is born, your labor partner will have the
opportunity to cut the umbilical
cord. If your newborn is stable, your baby will be wrapped in a blanket
and you will be able to see your blessed new child in the delivery or
operating
room. After bonding, the nurse will take your baby and support
person to where
your baby will be weighed and the nurse will get footprints for
the birth certificate and baby book.
Tour Our OB Department -
You can tour our LDR
suites, nursery and mother/baby care areas and meet some of the staff
who will take care of you and your newborn. To arrange a tour, call the
OB Department at 972-394-2221. If you are a mother in prenatal classes,
you will automatically get a tour.
Obstetric Anesthesia -
Every woman is different and
every pregnancy is different. When the time comes we want to
make
sure that you are comfortable and your baby is safe. We suggest talking
to your doctor regarding natural labor or pain control options. Medicaid covered.
Infant Security
-
We have a number of systems in place to protect you and your baby. The
OB Department has a secure access system, only the nurses and doctors
who work in the department have digital badges to enter. Each baby
sounds alarms if they are brought too close
to the exit doors.
Breastfeeding Support - breastfeeding is
a very special time for mother and child.
It’s a great time for bonding and feeling close to your baby. There are
many benefits of breastfeeding for both you and your baby.
Your
breast milk is made especially for your baby. It has just the right
amount of fats, carbohydrates and proteins for your baby. Its exactly
what your baby needs to grow and develop. Breastfed babies are
healthier babies since breast milk produces antibodies to protect your
infant from illnesses. Breast milk also decreases your baby's risk for
allergies and
asthma.
The benefits of breastfeeding isn’t exclusive
just to babies. It also provides benefits to moms as well.
Breastmilk is convenient, ready to use, and it’s free! Baylor
actively supports breastfeeding totally.
